| Ecin is a full service manufacturer. We build a complete line of sleep products, which include: Innerspring Bedding: An innerspring bedding set consists of an innerspring mattress and matching box spring unit. This combination out performs all other types of bedding from the standpoint of comfort, support and durability. Innerspring units are constructed of hundreds of spring wire coils o various gauges, depending on the design. The gauge relates to the wire thickness. ; the lower the number the heavier the wire. Innerspring bedding has many advantages. For instance, the mattress and box spring have free air circulation throughout. There is no heat buildup and the sleep set in constantly refreshed by the air passing through it. Innersprings buoy up the body. The gently upward support of an innerspring allows the body to relax completely, resulting in deep, restful sleep. With active, buoyant support where it’s needed most, the spine remains relaxed. No “hammock curves” or “bottoming out.”
Foam Bedding: Polyurethane foam is available in many different densities and levels of firmness. Each individual purchase is dependant on the consumer’s requirements. Foam sleep sets provide comfortable and durability yet do not give the “bounce factor” that innerspring sets offer. The motion transfer from one individual to other is greatly reduced. Foam bed sets also are extremely flexible, allowing them to be moved into tight quarters, because the mattress has the ability to be folded upon delivery.  Futon Mattresses: Futon mattresses have evolved over the years to become more than an inexpensive alternative for college students. Fill material used in today’s futons in more sophisticated and geared towards the contemporary lifestyles of today. A futon mattress can provide an excellent sleep surface for nightly sleeping when used on a platform bed. Futons are available in all sizes and come in various levels of comfort and thickness. Because of their flexibility, they are easy to move and get into small spaces. They are ideally suited for small apartments. |

They serviced
retail operations throughout New England as well as providing quality products to both private and state universities,
hospitals, nursing homes, correctional facilities and government installations. Ecin Industries purchased the Young
Bros., manufacturing in 1986 and moved the operation to Fall River. We continue to service these fine institutions
with quality sleep products and in 1986 added our futon mattress production to the mix. Not long after we saw a
definite need in the marketplace for a quality futon frame, thus our frame operation was christened. Since we were
already producing all our wood products for box springs and foundations the transition to a larger wood working
facility was not difficult.
Harvey Bigelow, a principal in the corporation,
came to the table with an extensive background in boat building. His woodworking skills and techniques lent themselves
nicely to building a quality hardwood futon frame. Thus the inception of the Harvey Bigelow line of American hardwood
futon frames. As the consumer became more educated the line evolved and now incorporates not only futon frames
but accompanying pieces as well.
